The Ticonderoga Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1954 as the International Paper Ticonderoga Mill’s employee credit union.

Since then, it has amended its charter twice, and now provides services to persons who live, work, worship or attend school in, or businesses or legal entities located in Essex County, Washington County or in the Towns of Hague, Horicon and Chester.

The TFCU continues to grow and offer membership to all who will benefit.

What is a credit union?

Credit unions are not-for-profit, member-owned cooperatives.
Credit unions exist to serve their members; not to make a profit. Earnings are returned to members in the form of lower loan rates, higher interest on deposits, lower fees and outstanding service!
Credit unions provide financial education for their members through workshops, seminars and other means to ensure that members are better educated consumers of financial services.
Credit unions DO pay taxes - payroll, sales and property taxes. Congress exempts them from Federal Income tax.
Credit unions are governed by a volunteer Board of Directors elected by and from their membership.
