Mission Statement

Reliant Community Credit Union is member owned and member driven. We are committed to satisfying members' financial needs through competitive, innovative, value-added products delivered with high quality personal and professional service. We will manage the organization to maintain financial soundness, to encourage growth, and to challenge employees with rewarding work.

What is a Credit Union?
Very simply, a credit union is a cooperative, not-for-profit financial institution organized to promote thrift and provide credit to its members. Credit unions evolved from the simple idea that people could pool their money and make loans to each other. Credit unions are member-owned and controlled by the people who use them -- the members. Rather than paying stockholders, earnings flow back to members in the form of higher dividends, lower loan rates, and fewer fees.

Safety and Soundness
All Reliant share accounts are federally insured up to at least $250,000 and backed by the full faith and credit of the United States Government National Credit Union Administration, a U.S. Government Agency. Additional insurance protection may be available depending on how you structure your accounts.

Reliant serves over 36,000 members, located in Monroe, Ontario, and Wayne counties, and has over $295 million in assets. There are approximately 12,000 credit unions worldwide with over 70 million members.

Reliant Mortgage Programs
Purchasing a home can be a stressful experience. As a potential buyer, you may have many questions: How much home can I afford? What types of mortgages are available? Which mortgage is best suited for me? How much will my out-of-pocket expense be? What if I've had problems with my credit?

As a member, Reliant's professionally trained mortgage department staff will bring you the expertise and confidence needed to answer these questions and other mortgage-related issues. Your concerns are addressed from the very beginning of the mortgage process. An open-line of communication is maintained from application through closing - with both you and the other parties involved (real estate agents, builders, attorneys, etc.).

Reliant's mortgage department personnel can pre-qualify you to determine the amount of house you can afford. This gives potential sellers confidence in the buyer, and can reduce the time from contract to closing.
